Rooted in Monkey 47’s unconventional and playful spirit, the concept translates the brand’s attention to detail into a richly layered interior world. Shaped by years of close collaboration across multiple projects, it reflects our deep understanding of the brand.
At the centre of the suite lies the bar area, defined by an antique copper bar counter and green tiled surfaces. Designed as both focal point and social hub, it invites guests to mix and enjoy Monkey 47 cocktails in a relaxed, intimate setting.

Inspired by the speakeasy era, the suite blurs the lines between hotel room, private club and immersive brand environment. Access is staged through a hidden entrance concealed within a wardrobe, leading into a sequence of curated spaces—an offline lounge, a library, and a central bar—that guide the experience.
In 2022, the concept was adapted and realized in Paris, demonstrating the original idea’s versatility while preserving its analogue essence.
Extending Monkey 47’s visual world beyond the suite, a mobile photo box brings the brand to life. Originally designed by us to provide bartenders worldwide with the perfect backdrop for their creations, it has become one of the brand’s most effective tools. Modeled as a handcrafted miniature of the “Zum wilden Affen” inn, the wooden cube captures the warmth and character of a traditional Black Forest bar.
Following Monkey 47’s brand renewal, Appartement 47 was redesigned in the updated visual language, featuring new wallpaper motifs and bespoke elements. A muted, earthy palette, illustrated wallpapers, and rich materials like brass, copper, wood, and vintage objects create layered, tactile interiors that reflect the brand’s narrative. Dimmed lighting, handcrafted fixtures, and abundant greenery enhance the intimate, slightly mysterious atmosphere.
