LITTLE EATALY

Little Eataly translates Mediterranean hospitality into an intimate, neighbourhood-driven dining experience. Set in a former pub in Cologne-Bickendorf, the project reimagines the space as a contemporary Italian restaurant, rooted in everyday conviviality.

Culinary identity becomes spatial when atmosphere, materiality and rhythm shape how people gather, dine and stay.

Inspired by the warmth and vibrancy of Mediterranean culture, the concept combines rustic charm with contemporary industrial touches. The result is a welcoming space where authenticity meets a modern, relaxed aesthetic.

The former pub was reimagined to optimize flow and comfort. Key elements such as the bar, service area, and seating zones are strategically arranged to anchor the space while maintaining an open, cohesive layout.

Exposed brickwork, natural textures, and a soothing color palette create a tactile, cozy atmosphere. Industrial accents are softened with warm lighting and comfortable furnishings, resulting in a balanced, inviting environment.
The interior unfolds through a series of distinctive seating areas, each with its own character. The bar and service station act as the visual and social centerpiece, while a secluded “romantic area” at the rear offers guests an intimate retreat under soft alcoves and gentle, ambient lighting.

The design concept extends through flexible seating arrangements and adaptable lighting, allowing the space to respond to seasonal changes, special events, and evolving guest experiences.
